About the Author
Frank LaFasto, Ph.D., recently retired as Senior Vice President of Organization Effectiveness after 30 years with Cardinal Health, Inc., a multinational health care company. An internationally recognized author and lecturer on management issues, Frank has more than 35 years’ experience helping organizations build and sustain successful teams. �Frank has written two best-sellers on the subject: Teamwork and How Teams Work Best, co-authored by Carl Larson. �He currently consults with private and public sector organizations to help them build effective teams, lead critical change initiatives, and develop executive talent. Frank resides in Lake Forest, Illinois.
Carl Larson, Ph.D., is professor emeritus of Human Communication and past dean of Social Sciences at the University of Denver. His most recent work includes When Teams Work Best (Sage 2001), Successful Communication and Negotiation, and Collaborative Leadership: How Citizens and Civic Leaders Can Make a Difference. Larson consults in both the public and private sector. He received the Driscoll Master Educator Award given by the students at the University of Denver to the university’s outstanding professor.�

An eye opener. Amazing in how one simple idea can send ripples through the world. Awe inspiring stories.
In these trying times it's good to read of real people making a difference without government or organizational help, but instead with grass roots efforts. Thought provoking and diffidently worth reading.

Inspiring and tangible ...

The Humanitarian Leader in Each of Us is an important work that examines the various components inherent in the leadership demonstrated by those giving to others in need. The stories of the people whose experiences are chronicled in the book make for fascinating and inspirational reading. The time and effort involved in researching and analyzing the critical work and traits of 31 different individuals becomes evident as one follows the clear explanations of what comprises their leadership, and what it takes. This book stimulates action, and provides hope that there are many people who want to do good and that, yes, one person can indeed make a difference. Further, it makes tangible the possibility that we, each of us, have the potential to be that leader.

Fabulous Read!

This book was absolutely inspiring. I am truly amazed by the devotion and committment of these humanitarian efforts. This book was well written and thought provoking. I really enjoyed the format and moreover the message that the authors Frank LaFasto and Carl Larson have composed in their work. There are a lot of take away notions from this book in terms of ways of getting involved and reaching out in a world-wide effort. I highly recommend this book!
